Craving Something Different?

High School

Change is EMPOWERING!

This program is essential for high school students because it lays the foundation for healthy emotional and social development. By learning about emotions, relationships, diversity, responsible decision-making, and self-management, children will be equipped with the necessary tools to thrive both in and outside of the classroom.

With our program, we strive to empower children to become confident, empathetic, and responsible individuals.

12 Core Principles

With 12 core principles ranging from civic engagement to financial literacy, our program addresses a wide range of topics that are essential for success in today’s world.

Our high school program offers a comprehensive approach to prepare students for their
future. By implementing the 12 core principles, we provide a well-rounded education that
will benefit students for years to come.

Our high school program is based on 12 core principles that are essential for success in life after graduation. These principles include:

Introducing students to the importance of being politically involved in their community, and how to vote and make a difference.

Teaching students about different mental health
diagnoses and coping strategies.

Developing communication skills, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

Strengthening the students ability to identify issues, generate potential solutions, and analyze and evaluate those solutions to choose the best course of action.

Educating students on their responsibilities to their community and ways to give back through volunteering and financial donations.

Providing opportunities for students to learn about different career paths through guest speakers, resume building, mock interviews, and applications.

Educating students on how to care for themselves, including spiritually, socially, emotionally, and mentally.

Teaching students the norms of society, including table etiquette, phone etiquette, work etiquette, and health etiquette.

Educating students on the 8 dimensions of health including spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, occupational, intellectual, financial, and social.

Teaching students about finances and how to maintain them through budgeting, credit, and a reality check activity.

Helping students prepare for life after graduation through
career aptitude tests, exploring job styles, colleges, military and work force options, and mock interviews and applications.

Teaching students the skills needed to start and run a
business through a shark tank activity and business plan pitch with business owners as judges.

Jazmine Nelson graduated from La Marque High School in 2018. Jasmine was raised in a single-parent household and college funding would be hard to come by. By being awarded the Cougar to Cougar Scholarship, Jazmine was able to embrace the campus culture where she thrives as an officer in the pre-medical society and participates in the Rowdy Corps Community-Based Work Program. Jazmine made many friends and connections that will contribute to her future by taking advantage of community service and outreach opportunities. Jazmine graduated with her degree in (what did she graduate with) from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
